Payroll
Payroll software for Tanzania that you can explain line by line
Salary structures, statutory deductions, payslips and the bank file — with every figure traceable to the rule and the approval that produced it.
What a payroll run produces
One run, and everything that has to come out of it comes out of it.
Salary slips
Per employee, showing each earning and deduction and the rule behind it. Opened by staff themselves in self-service.
The payroll register
The whole run on one sheet, by department or branch, for review before anything is paid.
A bank payment file
Net pay as a file your bank accepts, instead of a list retyped into online banking.
Statutory figures
The totals each return needs, per deduction, for the period — produced by the run rather than assembled after it.
Ledger postings
Payroll cost reaching the accounts by department or cost centre, so finance is not re-entering it.
An audit trail
Who changed a salary, who approved the run, and when. Kept, not overwritten.
PAYE, NSSF, WCF, SDL and HESLB
Each is a rule in the salary structure. The run applies it, produces the deduction, and gives you the figures the return asks for.
- PAYE on taxable earnings, with the bands held as configuration so a change is an edit, not a release.
- NSSF or PSSSF contributions, employee and employer side.
- WCF and SDL calculated on the right base for your organisation.
- HESLB loan repayment for the employees it applies to.
- Staff loans and salary advances recovered automatically on a schedule.
This page deliberately quotes no rates, bands or thresholds. They change, and published figures go stale silently. We confirm which obligations apply to you during discovery and test the configuration against a payroll you have already run.
For SMEs running payroll in Excel
Most of the payrolls we replace are a spreadsheet that one person understands. That works until they are on leave, or until someone disputes a figure from four months ago.
- The calculation stops living in formulas nobody else can read.
- A payslip can be reproduced months later, with the rule that produced it.
- A new joiner or a promotion is entered once, in the employee record, not in two places.
- Start with payroll alone and add leave, attendance and the rest when you need them — the records are already shared.
Switching without a bad month
Payroll is the one system where a go-live mistake is visible to every employee at once. So we do not cut over on trust.
- Employee master data and balances migrated and checked with you first.
- Salary structures and deductions configured, then test-run on real figures.
- One full month calculated in parallel with your current process.
- Reconciled employee by employee; nothing goes live until the difference is zero or explained.
Common questions
Yes. Each is set up as a rule in the salary structure, so a run produces the deduction and the figures the return needs. Rates and bands are configuration you or we can update, not values fixed in the code. We confirm which obligations apply to your organisation during discovery and test them against a payroll you have already run.
We recommend it, and we plan for it. One full month is calculated in the new system alongside your current process and reconciled employee by employee. Nothing goes live until the difference is zero or explained.
Yes. Net pay comes out as a file rather than a list to retype. The exact format depends on your bank, so we confirm it during discovery.
Yes, where you also run our ERP or we integrate with your accounting system: payroll cost reaches the ledger by department or cost centre instead of being journalled by hand.
It is a configuration change, not a software release. You can make it yourself, or we do it as part of support — and the change is dated, so a payslip from before it still reproduces with the rule that was in force.
